About American Heroes Custom Framing

Our Story

American Heroes Custom Framing is veteran and first responder owned and operated. Founded by George Wooden who proudly served as a United States Marine & Maryland State Trooper and Patrick Cullinan who proudly served as Firefighter/EMT & Deputy Sheriff in Augusta, Georgia.

Patrick met George at Maryland’s largest law-enforcement event, the Road Dawg Rumble in Baltimore. While there, Patrick discovered that George had custom framed one of our country’s fallen heroes, Police Officer Amy Sorrells Caprio of the Baltimore County Police Department uniform, after she was tragically killed in the line of duty on May 21, 2018. Patrick was impressed with how George was able to honor Amy for making the ultimate sacrifice and began thinking about how he could honor his grandfather who was a decorated combat soldier of World War II.

A conversation ensued and both George and Patrick agreed that there are many companies that custom frame athletes uniforms, to include George’s company, North American Iconix Group, but there was a great need for a company that specifically specialized in custom framing our American Heroes uniforms. American Heroes Custom Framing was born. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, attention to detail, and expert custom framing techniques. We provide you with the very best in preservation and presentation of your or your loved ones military or first responder uniform.

Our mission will always remain the same: Preserve and present your American Heroes uniform with honor, integrity and pride.

George Wooden Director of Operations

George enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1984. In 1991, he was hired by the Maryland State Police and began a long career. Over his 20 years, he served as a Road Patrol Trooper at several Barracks across the state of Maryland, as a Task Force Officer for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s High Intensity Drug Interdiction Task Force and then as a undercover investigator at various task forces across the state before retiring in 2009.

After retiring, he began to help charities through his company BW Unlimited Charity Fundraising. That led him to then open another company Iconix Decor providing framed decor for Sports Bars, Restaurants and Man Caves. However, while helping the Police Emerald Society of Baltimore with a fundraising event, Iconix framed and donated the uniform of Officer Amy Caprio’ of the Baltimore County Police Department who was murdered in the line of duty. Her framed uniform was presented to her family at their fundraising event as a means of honoring her. That spurred the idea of framing First Responders and U.S. Veterans uniforms to not only honor them and their careers.
